A second life starts with you
Donate a Camera
Working, untested or beyond repair. Your unused equipment can become a tool for independent work—or the parts that bring another camera back.
Prefer to give money?
Fund parts, cleaning and shipping.
You don’t have to send anything. A card payment through PayPal pays for the materials and shipping that turn a broken camera into a working tool.
Payments are processed securely by PayPal. You don't need a PayPal account to give by card. FocalLab is an independent, unregistered personal initiative. We do not issue charitable tax-deduction receipts.

Forwarding addresses
Every package must be addressed to Alberto Vargas, with the full suite number. The forwarding company uses this name to identify incoming equipment. These are forwarding addresses—not charity offices.

Giving from abroad
Your country. Your donation.
A camera can open a door to independent work. If tax relief is part of your decision, check the rules before you give.
No charitable tax receipt currently available. FocalLab is an independent, unregistered personal initiative in Peru. No qualifying charity partner is confirmed. We cannot offer or promise a tax deduction for your donation.
Tax residence matters—not simply where you post the camera or which hub receives it.
Country tax guidance is shown in English only: it is legal wording tied to official sources and keeps one source of truth.
United States
Potential tax relief
A camera gift may qualify for a federal deduction when given to an eligible US charitable organization and the donor meets the deduction, valuation and documentation rules. Direct gifts to an individual or generally to a foreign organization do not qualify. A future US charity partner would need to genuinely accept and control the donation—not just pass through a receipt. State income-tax treatment varies; Florida has no individual income tax.
Sending your camera
For equipment sent from within the US, Florida is the domestic forwarding option. A domestic delivery does not make the donation tax-deductible or remove onward shipping costs.
General guidance reviewed 11 October 2026—not personal tax advice. Rules can change. Ask your tax authority or adviser about your circumstances and any future qualified recipient before claiming relief. A Camera Passport card records the camera’s journey; it is not a charitable tax receipt. Wait for confirmed receiving instructions before shipping.
